About the Andrew Gulch Memorial Golf Outing

The Andrew Gulch Memorial Golf Outing is a hockey themed golf outing that is held in annually in the Toledo area on the last Saturday before the start of the College Football Season. The main goal of the event is to generate research funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), which works to find cures for families in NW Ohio/SE Michigan that are affected by muscle diseases. The event is in memory of the Gulch's son, who was born with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy and passed away in 2001.

Since 2011, the Gulch's have raised over $125,000 for research into the 43 muscle diseases (including ALS) that are part of the mission of MDA, sent numerous children to the Ohio MDA Summer Camp, and supported the Toledo MDA Clinic at the Toledo Hospital. This is accomplished through golfers that participate in the golf outing, hole and contest sponsors and the Silent Auction.
